Tech Lead — Energy Ventures

Level: Senior Department: Ventures Location: Florida HQ / Remote-OK Classification: W-2

Mission

Own technical evaluation and engineering coverage for Albright's Energy venture area — grid software, storage, generation, and the energy-transition technologies relevant to federal and utility buyers.

Responsibilities

  • Track technical developments across grid, storage, and generation
  • Author technical briefs and diligence memos on venture targets
  • Lead technical scoping for energy-vertical opportunities
  • Build engineering relationships at utility and energy-tech targets
  • Partner with Grid Optimization Engineer on technical depth
  • Represent Albright at industry forums (DistribuTECH, RE+)
  • Inform internal R&D priorities based on energy signal

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years engineering in energy systems, grid software, or utility tech
  • Strong systems-thinking and technical-writing chops
  • Working knowledge of grid and energy-market structures
  • Ability to translate technical depth into executive-ready briefs

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior role at a utility, ISO/RTO, or grid-software vendor
  • Background in DER, storage, or grid-edge computing
  • Working knowledge of NERC CIP
  • Florida base
