Controller (full-cycle accounting, AP/AR)

Level: Director Department: Finance Location: Florida HQ / Remote-OK Classification: W-2

Mission

Own GAAP accounting, monthly close, AP/AR, payroll oversight, and the operating accounting cadence under the CFO. Be the day-to-day operator of the finance function.

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close on a predictable cadence
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure GAAP compliance
  • Manage AP, AR, payroll, and expense reporting workflows
  • Lead the annual financial audit
  • Manage the accounting and ERP stack (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Bill, Ramp)
  • Partner with CFO on cash forecasting and treasury management
  • Establish federal cost-accounting practices (FAR Part 31, DCAA-ready)

Required qualifications

  • 7+ years accounting experience; 3+ years as Controller or Assistant Controller
  • CPA preferred or equivalent technical accounting depth
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and audit-leading experience
  • Track record running monthly close on time, every time

Preferred qualifications

  • Federal contractor accounting experience (DCAA, Unanet, Deltek)
  • Prior Controller role at a software or professional-services company
  • Working knowledge of revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Florida base
