AI-Tutor Curriculum Engineer

Level: Mid Department: Ventures Location: Florida HQ / Remote-OK Classification: W-2

Mission

Build curriculum, prompt patterns, and pedagogical scaffolding for AI tutoring systems. Bridge instructional design and applied LLM engineering for Albright's Education venture work.

Responsibilities

  • Author tutoring curricula and prompt patterns across subject areas
  • Build eval harnesses for tutoring quality and learning outcomes
  • Partner with ML engineers on tutor model selection and fine-tuning
  • Maintain pedagogical and equity guardrails on tutoring outputs
  • Establish content-moderation and child-safety posture
  • Track research in AI tutoring and instructional design
  • Support diligence on edtech venture-coverage opportunities

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years working in education technology or instructional design
  • Hands-on experience prompting and evaluating LLM-based tutoring
  • Strong writing and pedagogical instincts
  • Working knowledge of FERPA and child-safety obligations (COPPA where applicable)

Preferred qualifications

  • Teaching background or formal training in instructional design
  • Experience with LMS or learning-analytics platforms
  • Background in K-12 or adult-learner edtech
  • Florida base
